SHINE, SHINE, SHINE
This week's photohunt theme is SHINY
I used a different version of this photo in my very first photohunters.
This is in Millenium Park in Chicago. I call it the Kidney Bean- but I believe there is a different name for it.
O.K.- I got off of my duff and looked it up. It is officially called the CLOUD GATE.
And here it is at night reflecting the city skyline.
When you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same.

Wow, I wouldn't want to walk into that, it has a resemblance of UFO to it.
Cool shots though and very fitting.
Oooo... that's so cool! So lovely! Kidney bean! hehe... yes, it does look like one huge shiny kidney bean!
Have a great weekend! :)

Wow - now that looks really cool but quite odd just kind of "plunked" down there in the middle of a city.
Have a great weekend!
What an unusual structure! Very shiny indeed!
Very shiny! Great shots! :)
That looks very special ! I have been in Chicago a few times and for me it's the best city for architecture !
What a beautiful shot!! I bet it would be so beautiful up close.
Glad you posted both a day and night shot. The glare from that in the day must be blinding!
That must be a nice attraction in Chicago. Great shots during the morning and evening. Have a great weekend!
Cool! Now THAT's shiny! Great choice for the hunt. Happy hunting :)
I would love to know what the other name for it is, one thing for sure is that it's impressive.
Greeat quote and perfect photos for the theme. What an incredible structure!
That is indeed shiny and very interesting. Funny for a gate but certainly impressive
Very nice indeed. Thanks for dropping by
Neat!
Great shot for our theme. Beautiful depiction of shiny. The second one is my favorite.
That is one funky statue!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting earlier.

Thats shiny, i wanna walk into it. ;-) Thanks for the wise saying, wrote it into my book. Wish you a nice day.
Oh WOW that is amazing!! It does look like a kidney bean though.
I remember that post and I'm glad you put it back up. I can't remember things very long! The shot at night is great. At night it looks like a UFO landed! LOL
Great idea and this is certainly the epitomy of shiny...looks like a bike helmet...maybe that's because I just went biking!!
My boyfriend was telling me about this the last time I was in Chicago! We didn't get to see it though. Maybe on the next trip.
Very cool! Can you tell us something more about why this was constructed? It reminds me of those mirrors at the carnival that make your body parts the wrong size.
I bet you that it's one of the most photographed things or should I say SHINY things in Chicago.
