IF THE SHOE FITS

Today's Photohunters theme is SHOES

This has to be one of my favorite subjects. What is it about shoes? Is it that you can ALWAYS find a gorgeous pair that fits- when none of the slacks that you've been trying on do? Must be. I know that when I go shopping for clothing 9 times out of 10 I come home with nothing but shoes. And besides, they're all so pretty and make the calves look fabulous.

I've included a couple of shots of some of my shoes. These are mostly my spring/summer wardrobe. I did throw in a couple of my cowboy boots for good measure. This does not include most of my casual sandals and flip flops- I don't REALLY consider them proper shoes.

I recently read that the AVERAGE woman owns 27 pair of shoes and spends an average of $277.00 a year on shoes. Can this be right?
Imelda Marcos I'm not- but, getting there.

Geez, this is a bit embarrassing. I think I need a 12 step program.
Now on to the handbags!

If the shoe fits, it's too expensive.

I keep wanting to say OMG when I see so many shoes but then I think how many pairs I have.

For me it just doesn't look so many because they are all over the house and my bedroom floor lol

Awesome! I love shoes!

I guess I'm not the average woman as I never spend money on shoes if I can help it and I probably own less than 12 pair! My mother on the other hand is a different story and I always tease her about being the Imelda Marcos of Connecticut!

I love your shoe collection. I'm also fond of handbags. Buying a lovely handbag always gives me a natural high. :)

wow. that's a whole lot of shoes. i always joke around saying that i'm the 'anti-girl'.. and i have more computer equipment and electrical 'gadgets' than shoes... which is VERY true. :-) you should see my closet. 5 pairs of shoes.. and then a huge basket of connector cables... cords... adapters... extra/old mice, keyboards... etc.

I'll come with you to Shoes Anon, my wardrobe is much the same! LOL

I love those brown toe post sandals with the butterfly front - what size are they? Pass 'em over when you're fed up with them please. :)

I am certainly not part of shoe women ! I only have shoes I need and anyway I never look at shoes ! you could stay with me for 20 years in slippers and I wouldn't even see it !

Wow, lots of shoes! My mom mostly has lots of running shoes. She has super-wide feet, so can't wear a lot of very pretty, feminine shoes.

Nice collection. I have to limit my shoes to a certain few. I have six girls, so I have to set the example. Can you imagine what my house would look like if we all had that many shoes?

those are all some luscious shoes! thanks for visiting my first photo hunt post!

I am no where near "average", lol. I have 2 pair of shoes that I bought on sale this spring as I desperately needed some, and 2 pair of athletic shoes (we used to call them runners) now that I work out in the gym (one pair was given to me recently). I usually just wear boots, and you can see 2 of the 3 pair I wear on todays post.

Everyone is invited to my blog to see my take on todays theme. Hope to see you there.

Lots of shoes in your closet and beautiful pairs at that. I used to have a closet full of shoes but recently decided that I can do with just a couple. It's still more than 10 but at least it's not a closet full.

Happy weekend!

Wow! That is quite a collection. Not sure I'm ready to do that with my shoes. They're so spread out across the house that I don't think I even realize how many I have!

Thanks for stopping by!

NEXT WEEK I'M GOING TO BUY A THIRD PAIR OF SHOES (WEARABLE).
How many pairs should a fella own any way...to run with this bunch? I doubt three is enough, but if ya'll will explain the rules and let me know the minimum accepted number, i will gladly post a picture of my shoes as soon as I reach that number.

I'm not good with clothes or shoe shopping, but shoes are probably my worse... I've got quite wide feet, so it's so disheartening seeing a pair I like, only to find they haven't got it in my size :-(

I read a very touching story about shoes while going round the blogosphere looking at Dona Nobis Pacem posts... worth a read (not one you see every day)

I can't be an average woman... let's see, I have trainers for walking and work, a pair of heels I never wear, a pair of sandals and some DM's. That's it! Oh well, one day I'll find some wide shoes that don't make my feet look like plant pots stuck on the end of my legs! :-)

Mother of Invention said...

I'm with Annelisa! I have size 11 barges and wide! I own 3 pairs..hiking bots, runners, and sandals..I can't get dainty shoes since I have to fit in a big honkin' orthotic. I really hate it as I used to be able to wear all kinds of shoes before I developed a major toe joint problem which left it permanently huge and sore!

$277.00 a year on shoes? That can't be right ... my wife spends much more than that.
