UNINSPIRED AND UNCREATIVE

I was told by a fellow blogger that my posts these days are uninspired...compared to several months ago.

I agree....And they are definitely uncreative,in my opinion.

Maybe it's time to stop for a while-at least until my life becomes more inspiring.

After all, how many photos of my garden can one person take? And all this after I took some new ones to post, at that.

I was also told that I seem to have a morbid core. This, I'm afraid, is probably also true. I first noticed that when I was about 12. Geez, in 35 years you think I would have figured out how to take care of that. It may take me paying someone $150.00 an hour to figure that out for me. A therapist is going to cost me more than $150.00 an hour - isn't she? I may have to rethink that one.

Thanks for reading everyone. We'll see what happens next.

Well, I'm a relatively new reader so I'm still learning and seeing lots of new things so I can't say I've noticed tht. Everyone is posting garden pics as we're so happy to document the season we love after the horrid winter. It's just offering a slice of your life to someone else and it doesn't have to be inspiring all the time. I only post 3 or 4 times a week and are only thought-provoking once in awhile, and perhaps a bite creative on Poetry Friday themes. (Mona's on my sidebar..you get the word on Thurs. and try to post Fri. or sometimes Sat. Tomorrow's word is "trip")
A lot is just sharing life's ordinary moments or memories with a sense of humour.
If you feel you need a change, you could try poems and short stories on the Friday themes, or.. because you take such good pics, you could do a photo poem..for example, 4 pics with 1 line underneath each and they don't need to rhyme. (Colleen at Loose Leaf Notes does this well..on my sidebar)
Or you can go through your pics and think of stuff you could write to any of them.

excuse my english but sc@w the uninspiredblogger and stop calling him / her friend.

And stop it right now, gewels...... !!! I mean it. If you stop blogging, I'm going to put on my super kitty cat cape and fly all the way east to tape your fingers to that keyboard ...... in other words ........ i'll really miss you.

Morbid is nice. I Love Morbid !! Morbid is my middle name. Don't let some $150 an hour therapist take THAT away from you......

These comments remind me of a comment by Maya Angelou........she described a dinner party held at her home for her graduate students. At this party was one particular male student who had the tiresome habit of 'critiquing' everyone - constantly. At the dinner table, Maya finally had enough. She called him out on it in front of everyone. She said to him, "In life you will find that some people are little fish. Their sole purpose in life is to take little bites out of you, repeatedly, until they have diminished you to nothing. You are one of those people. Stop it ! Right now, I say STOP IT...I will have none of that in my house." ok maybe that was a paraphrase, but the meaning is clear: don't let someone's small mind bite away at yours ......

We can't be all things to all cats and people all the time. Our lives (and therefore how we communicate) ebb and flow; this is the natural order of things.

Red-dirt-girl has a super kitty cat cape?

Hi Gewels! I see my boy has been here before me. :) Thanks for visiting his blog.

What red-dirt-girl said is true: morbid IS nice! Don't let someone judge you that way!

Hugs,
Elaine

You're going to let one commenter stop you blogging? Stuff whoever it was!

If people didn't like your blog you wouldn't get any comments at all would you? No-one can be inspiring all the time. I certainly don't blog to be that, I just like gossiping.

I hope you don't stop, I for one would miss my daily gossip with you. :)

Whoa girls!!! I can feel the LOVE.

This is the third blog that I have had in a year and a half- something often happens to make me stop communicating then something else will happen to make me start up again. This one, by far, has helped me to find the best group of friends- I don't want to give that up.I count on you guys daily. I feel closer to all of you than any of my acquaintances in "real" life. In fact, no one even has this address....Actually, I've given it to a few folks but no one bothers to visit.

My life, these days, is blah, boring and uninspired...truer words were never spoken...my dear friend who mentioned this to me was RIGHT ON TARGET!!!

Maybe I should write about what is going on- after all I did start this one up as "therapy" back in January. Then it did become somewhat of a creative outlet (what little creativity I do have). Then, sort of a photo blog...

It's in transition (as am I) and we'll just see where it goes.

BTW- Luxor- I'm going to steal the Anai Nin quote(hope you won't mind)

Thanks for your support, you'll never know how much it is appreciated- as was the critique that made me go here.

Do a little of everything you just mentioned..variety is the spice and all that..it gives you freedom to just let it flow where your mind and heart take you that day. We're all just hangin' out doing the same thing!

Yeah a little bit of whatever takes your fancy, in other words gossiping, that's what its all about! :)

If your recent posts are uninspired and uncreative, how come I stop by for a look every single morning when I get off work? I can take as many pictures of your amazing garden as you could ever post. Gardens like yours take inspiration to create. And find me someone who doesn't have an element of morbidity in his soul.... really!

I love your blog!

For 75 dollars Gewels, you can skip the Therapist, send me a bus ticket and on the way there I will study maps and find some "Inspirational" places to go...sunrises, sunsets, big ol Moon comin' up over the bay;
maybe a small town somewhere in the Appalachias where we can cause a HUGE scandal and wind up on "Good Morning America"...or maybe even Oprah!!!

Morbid eh... some of my best friends are so morbid i think they ought to be preachers...Maryland , I believe, is the mecca of morbid..

"And the raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sitting
On the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door;
And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor;
And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor
Shall be lifted - nevermore!"

I've just discovered you and I'm not bored in the least! I'm the first to admit some days the inspiration is there and other days it's like scraping the bottom of the mental barrel to come up with something to write about. It may actually be interesting for you (and for us) to hear your progress in working through whatever "block" you think you have. As for a morbid core, that's BS! Just keep writing.

Well, I think everyone has basically said when I saw your post - don't stop!

I know I haven't visited very often, but I certainly have seen you round and about, and would miss you.

I have to say about the 'fellow' blogger who said this, that that might have been right for him, but it was one person's view at a time when that person was maybe looking for something else... It's not everyone's point of view.

Most of us here in the blogging world have an 'everyday' sort of life. Nothing exciting. Nothing inspiring. Nothing except life. And how you live it, what you say, is interesting to other people (as several have said, otherwise why would anyone be visiting you, and leaving comments!)

Even you might be bored of what's going on in your life, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that it's not as boring as you think - I bet if you were to tell it, it would take up a life of its own. In fact, I'd love to hear more of your life.

(I'm not a very good visitor though, as I'm pretty busy in that other 'real' life, but I would like to stop by more often, if that means anything!)

Look! You even got Kitty coming from behind the chairs and hissing at that blogger - that's got to mean a lot! :-D And, btw, she's spot on with what she said!

And morbidity? Isn't that part of life?

Don't leave, Gewels... just write it all out....

Linds said...

What are you talking about, girlfriend?!

I believe you've lost it, Gewels. You CAN'T leave us all hanging like this!! And, on a more selfish note, I have come to rely on your humor, support, and raw honesty!

Take a deep breath and then delete this last entry... we all love you, whether you're morbid or not. :)

I have found that creativity is tricky! Sometimes one must just wait for inspiration and hope that something will occur. It usually does, but you have to watch for it.
Just a thought.

You guys are the best!! I'm sitting here with tears streaming down my cheeks reading all of this.

I often wonder why anyone would read my blog- but, it seems to be the same reason that I read everyone else's. I do so love to peer into others' lives and hearts (if possible) to see what is there.

And you all have such AMAZING hearts- it is truly touching.

So, I vow to give you all something to look at that might pique your interest sooner or later.
Dave- I've been dying to show you my basil (when it soars to new heights this summer).

Akelamalu- I'll do my best to give you gossip, gossip and more gossip.
And, maybe if Steve is up for it- SCANDAL!! LOL- who knows

Steve- Ooh!! one more place to go on our date- Edgar Allen Poe's grave- I'll bring the rose and whiskey to lay on his grave.

But the raven, sitting lonely on that placid bust, spoke only
That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour.
Nothing further then he uttered; not a feather then he fluttered;
Till I scarcely more than muttered, "Other friends have flown before;
On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before."
Then the bird said, "Nevermore."

Barbara- I just can't keep up with all of your activities- whenever DID you have time to work!

MOI- I could never be the poet that you are, but, maybe I'll give it a try.

Annelisa- Words that Flow is a beautiful way to start the day. Your blog IS inspiring.

Elaine, Linds and Red Dirt Girl- Where would I be without my "soul" sisters. I love you all as if we were sisters.
Actually -I love you MORE, since we chose each other.

You guys are the best! And, I never want to give you up. You're my support and my sanity.
